Wolverhampton Wanderers legend Steve Bull is confident his former team can secure local bragging rights in the upcoming Black Country derbies.

What's at Stake?

The first derby is set for September 19 at Molineux, with the reverse fixture at The Hawthorns on February 20. Bull told the Express & Star: "It's huge. When we played them last time in the FA Cup we were a Premier League side and we had some superb players, but they've all gone now and it's going to be totally different."

The Rivalry

Wolves have not beaten West Brom in the league since 2011, and Bull hopes the players are aware of the importance of these games. The former striker said: "We're now both Championship sides and it will be a scrap, a battle, a fight and the football will be totally different."

The Fans' Perspective

Albion promotion-winner Kevin Phillips believes supporters will be relishing the clash at Molineux come September. Phillips said: "When you hear fans saying they don't want their rivals to come up, they want them to get relegated - you don't. You want them in the same league." | Date | Fixture | | --- | --- | | September 19 | Wolverhampton Wanderers vs West Brom | | February 20 | West Brom vs Wolverhampton Wanderers |

The Road Ahead

Wolverhampton Wanderers will be looking to make a strong start to the season, with Bull hoping for three or four wins under their belt before the first derby. The legend said: "I'm glad the first one is at home because our fans will give the players a lift and if they can't win that game with the fans' backing then there's something wrong.
