Wolverhampton Wanderers striker Saša Kalajdžić has stated that he is not closing the door on a transfer this summer, despite being in his final year of contract with the Premier League club. The 29-year-old Austrian international has endured a difficult spell since joining Wolves from VfB Stuttgart in August 2021, playing just 350 minutes from 16 matches and managing three goals and an assist. Kalajdžić suffered a serious knee injury on his Wolves debut, forcing him to miss the rest of the season, and then suffered another setback in February 2024 while on loan at Eintracht Frankfurt, missing 437 days and the entire 2024/25 season. However, a loan spell at LASK last summer helped him regain form and fitness, and he even won the title with the Austrian club. Kalajdžić has now returned to LASK, where he was in attendance for the club's 4-1 win over SV Ried last Friday, and has refused to rule out a return to the club this summer. "LASK have a special place in my heart; it means a great deal to me," Kalajdžić said. "Basically, you never know in life, that's why I never close any doors. I'm still in touch with Dino [Buric, LASK sporting director] and everyone else, but fundamentally, the plan is not to stay in Linz." Kalajdžić also sent a message to LASK, not to get their hopes up, saying "I don't want to raise false hopes, but I also don't want to say I'm not coming and then end up coming after all, you never know in life." Wolverhampton Wanderers have to sell Kalajdžić this summer to avoid losing him for free in 2027.
