Breakfast and Pre-Match Meal
Worsey, 25, said she starts her day with a three-Weetabix breakfast, hot milk, and a poached egg and beans on toast. She keeps the meal simple, focusing on nutrition that fuels her without weighing her down. The routine is consistent, and she follows it every matchday, whether at home or away.
Music and Mental Prep
She explained that music is a key part of her preparation. “I’ll usually put music on straight away when I wake up,” she said, using it to pump herself up while staying relaxed. On the way to the stadium she listens to Taylor Swift, a personal choice that helps her settle nerves. Once in the changing room, the team’s DJ, Robbo, takes over the playlist, and the squad adds their own tracks, especially if a new song drops.
Team Spirit and Final Moments
Worsey praised the team’s camaraderie, noting that everyone gets along well and enjoys the bus ride to away games. “There’s not really a set seating arrangement, but everyone tends to stick with the same people,” she said. In the changing room she described a high-energy atmosphere: the squad dancing and singing until the moment Macca arrives about ten minutes before kickoff, signalling the start of the match.
She also highlighted her perfectionism when it comes to gear. “I’m definitely a very organised person, and if anyone comes into my space, I hate it!” she said, ensuring her boots and shin pads are neatly laid out in the changing room.
Worsey’s routine reflects a blend of simplicity, personal superstition, and team cohesion. By sticking to a consistent breakfast, a carefully chosen playlist, and a disciplined approach to equipment, she aims to enter the game mentally prepared and physically ready. Her focus on relaxation and preparation, combined with the supportive environment of her teammates, sets the tone for a confident performance on the pitch.
She said that when Macca arrives about ten minutes before kickoff, the team knows it’s time to go on.
