Wolverhampton Wanderers have an injury concern over midfielder Fer Lopez, who has returned early from international duty with Spain's Under-21 squad. The 22-year-old left the camp with a minor issue and will be assessed at the club's training ground.

Lopez featured for 70 minutes in Spain's 2-1 defeat to Finland on September 25 but was absent from the squad that beat San Marino 13-0 last Thursday. He has been a key figure for Wolves this season, starting all seven Championship matches and scoring four goals, making him the team's top scorer. His most recent strike was the winner in the Black Country derby against West Brom on September 20.

His availability for Saturday's trip to Middlesbrough is now in question. Wolves are already managing fitness issues with striker Raul Jimenez and defenders Yerson Mosquera and Rafiki Said, though Ladislav Krejci has returned from a calf problem. The team's recent form shows one win, one draw, and three defeats from their last five games.

The club will hope Lopez's issue is not serious as they prepare for a key period.
