Wolverhampton Wanderers have announced Jonathan Gregory as their new chief commercial officer. He brings extensive experience from senior roles in sports marketing and commercial leadership within football and other major brands.

Gregory has worked for organizations such as the Football Association, Wembley Stadium, several football clubs, and sportswear companies, focusing on commercial planning and brand growth. His background also includes a role at PepsiCo related to the Doritos sponsorship deal with Wolves around the year 2000.

Gregory's experience

His career outside football includes serving as chief commercial officer at venues like Goodwood and Ascot Racecourse. While with the FA for eight years, he worked on initiatives such as the National Football Centre, efforts to bring the World Cup to England, and the growth of the women's professional game.

Gregory expressed his enthusiasm about joining the club in its 150th anniversary year. "I’m incredibly excited to be joining Wolves," he said. "I’ve been fortunate enough to spend more than 25 years working in sport across football clubs, governing bodies and major organisations, and I’m looking forward to bringing all those experiences to this club."

He noted a prior link to the club's stadium. "Wolves has a proud history, which we are celebrating extensively this season during our 150th anniversary, and having been involved with the club during the early years of my career with the Doritos sponsorship, I’m delighted to be able to bring the experiences I’ve had over the last two decades back to Molineux."

The hiring aims to bolster the club's executive team as it seeks to grow its commercial activities. This administrative change occurs as the squad gets ready for a future home game in the Championship.
