Police are appealing for public help to identify suspects after disorder broke out following Wolverhampton Wanderers' last home win. The incident occurred on Lichfield Street after the Championship side's 4-1 victory over Stoke City at Molineux on Saturday, 29 August.
Five men have been arrested in connection with the incident, with four of them subsequently charged. Groups were involved in fighting and items were reportedly thrown during the disorder. West Midlands Police have released surveillance images and are continuing their investigation.
"As we continue our enquiries, we’re asking for the public’s help in identifying these men," a spokesman for West Midlands Police said. The force is encouraging anyone with information to come forward. "If you recognise them or can help our investigation, call 101 or use Live Chat on our website quoting crime reference 20/380807/26," the spokesman added.
The appeal comes as Gary O'Neil's side prepare for their next Championship fixture away to Middlesbrough on 10 October. The team's recent form has been mixed, with one win, one draw and three defeats in their last five outings, a sequence that includes losses in their last two matches.
That late August win over Stoke remains Wolves' most recent home victory and their highest-scoring game of the season so far. The club will be hoping to refocus attention on matters on the pitch as they look to improve their standings position in the coming weeks.
